Kawana Forest is a small locality located on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia.

Kawana Forest is officially located within the Meridan Plains suburb, and is part of the Sunshine Coast Region. Kawana Forest is located partly within the Caloundra urban centre 8 kilometres (5 mi) west-northwest of Caloundra, and is about an hour’s drive from Queensland’s capital city Brisbane.

Meridan Plains is named after an early property in the area, which was named from Aboriginal words meaning “place of kangaroos or dingoes”.
