Talara Primary College, situated in Currimundi on the Sunshine Coast, is a P-6 Education Queensland State Primary School which was opened in 1998 with 300 students enrolled. The school was built to provide a primary educational facility west of Nicklin Way and north of Caloundra Road, to service the rapidly developing high density housing area being developed at that time. As our name reflects, the College set out to be a little different and provide a learning community that is passionate about striving for excellence in all that we do. Today Talara Primary College caters for over 1100 keen and enthusiastic students eager to learn. It is a young school which can be proud of its achievements.

Meridan State College – is the Year 7-Year 12 Catchment school for Kawana Forest.

Meridan State College is an Independent Public School situated in the fast growing western suburbs of Caloundra on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. The Primary campus opened in 2006, Junior Secondary in 2008 and the Senior Secondary campus in 2010.

Meridan is a Prep-Year 12 College and boasts a distinctive subschool structure which fosters the education of this broad age range of students in modern campuses which have been purpose designed to cater for each cohort at their specific age of development. Each phase offers a diverse and rich curriculum supported by quality teaching that gives our students a seamless progression through their 13 years of schooling. A dense rainforest divides the site creating an attractive environment and providing a separation of the sub schools. A boardwalk which transverses the rainforest links the sub schools and provides unique learning experiences for our students in a beautiful, natural environment.

While still a relatively new school, Meridan has already established a reputation as a high performing school with an emphasis on quality teaching and high standards of behaviour in a safe, supportive environment.
