Santa enjoyed seeing over 60 families and giving out over 30 gift bags to Kawana Forest children. It was great to see you all mingling and chatting with your neighbours (old and new) whilst enjoying the music, face painting, BBQ and lucky door prizes supplied by our local sponsors.
On the day we received some positive feedback on establishing a Kawana Forest Neighbourhood Watch group or similar. We will continue to investigate what is required and what benefits our community will gain. One benefit would be having a dedicated police liaison officer, who can provide us with a heads-up on local crimes and prevention ideas.
Our resident’s association is run by a newly elected voluntary committee and any activities organised (e.g. newsletters, Christmas party, improving safety and ad-hoc events) are funded by a $10 per household yearly membership.
A big thank you to the following sponsors: McGrath Real Estate, DJ Keith Makin, RWilly, Forestry Hair and Toyota Materials Handling. Thanks also to our volunteers who assisted with the event and Cr Rick Baberowski for speaking and attending on the day.
Have a safe and happy festive season.
